Directions to Practice

We are on Winter Break – no more training on the water until April 2011.

Practices open to the public are every Sunday afternoon from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.  Private practices for committed team members who are training for competition are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.30 p.m.

To get to practice, go to the boathouse on Houhai Xi An (western shore).

Golden Sail Water Sports Club (金帆, Pinyin: Jīnfān) 81A Houhai Xiyan (后海西沿81A) 6401 2664 (On NW edge of Houhai Lake, Just inside NW corner of 2nd Ring Road, southwest of the Song Qingling former residence)
  • By taxi, go to Deshengmennei Dajie and get off at the small footbridge that’s about 500 meters south of the intersection of Deshengmennei and 2nd Ring Road. Walk east on the road that’s just south of the footbridge, and you’ll see the boathouse in front of you as you reach the lake.
  • By subway, take Line 2 to Jishuitan Station. Leave the station using Exit B. Walk east along the Second Ring Road for about 200 m and take Xihai Beiyan south. Xihai Beiyan will take you south and east for 750 m until you reach a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights at a road called Deshengmennei Dajie. Cross this road and continue east until you reach the boat house. From the traffic lights to our boat house is only 100 m. The total distance to walk from the subway station is 1.05 km and should take 15 mins.
  • By bus, any route that stops on Gulouxidajie will place you close to the lake and our boat house. Once on Gulouxidajie, take Houhai Alley straight to the lake. Houhai Alley runs south off Gulouxidajie and is located approximately 300 m from the western entrance of Gulouxidajie. Once at the lake, turn right and follow the lake around until you reach a small bridge that crosses a small canal. The boat house will be on your immediate left. The walk from the entrance of Houhai Alley to the boat house is 500 m.

Hi Ana – sorry for the delay. We have actually just stopped training for the year! But, if you are interested in being involved with us over the winter off season let us know. Otherwise, we’ll start up again in April 2011. Join the mailing list at beijingdragonboating@yahoogroups.com to keep up to date
